Fitting carpet, hard flooring or vinyl can be hard work, especially if you aren’t used to it. There can be a lot of pressure to get it right, making the situation stressful, especially if you have an odd-shaped room or a difficult angle.

Don’t worry! Carpet Barn can help. We offer a full fitting service to those purchasing products from our stores.

We offer a fully guaranteed fitting service for our carpet, vinyl, LVT (including Karndean, Amtico and Moduleo), laminate, wood and matting products.

How Our Service Works

We use a selection of self-employed fitters who will install your flooring with precision, ensuring every corner is covered and fitted properly.

The team at Carpet Barn work directly with the fitter on your behalf to arrange suitable fitting dates. Our staff will be able to arrange an installation date with you whenever you are ready. This could be arranged at the point of ordering the flooring, or whenever you are ready for it to be fitted. We are happy to store your flooring choice in your local store for as long as you need.

On installation day, the fitter will arrive with your choice of flooring, so you don’t have to stress about finding space to store the flooring before it is fitted.

In some cases of hard flooring, the materials require acclimatisation in your home before installation. Should this be the case for your selected flooring, we will arrange a separate delivery date prior to the fitting date.

On arrival, specified on your order, our fitters can move any furniture out of the way before installing the flooring. We simply ask that any personal, fragile belongings be removed before the fitting. Once completed, the fitters will replace any furniture moved to where they belong. We will ask if you need this service when booking your installation and will provide a quote for this too. If you do not specify you would like this service when booking your fitting, we will need the area to be cleared before our arrival.

To complete our service, we also offer an uplifting and disposal service for old flooring at an additional cost. As an eco-conscious company, we make an effort to send most of the floor waste to a recycling centre, diverting it from landfills.

If you simply need help uplifting old carpet or flooring, we are also able to do this, moving it to a suitable storage location for you ready for you to dispose of when convenient.

Good To Know Information

Each fitter has their own up-to-date commercial insurance policies, meaning you can be confident they are covered should anything go wrong. In the event of any issues, we will continue to liaise with the fitter, arranging any rectification works to be carried out so you don’t have to stress about chasing them up. We aim to offer a swift service to deal with any problem should they occur.

 

Floor Fitting FAQs

Prices are calculated on a per sq metre basis and vary depending on the type of flooring being purchased. The price will be worked out by our sales team when quoting for your requirements. In some cases, a minimum charge will be applied rather than a sq metre rate depending on the size of the areas.

No, we will only offer this service to those who buy flooring from one of our stores.

The timeframe for an installation process will vary depending on the shape and size of the room and the type of flooring being fitted. It will also depend on whether any subfloor preparation needs to be completed by our fitters.

Typically, installation can take a few hours for a small room or several days for larger areas. We will try to give you an estimate for how long your floor fitting will take when you purchase flooring and fitting service with us.

When we are arranging your flooring fitting, we will try to give you either morning or afternoon appointments on your preferred date. We will not be able to give an exact time estimation because sometime fittings can take longer than expected, meaning we don’t get you on time. We will try and stay in contact with you as much as possible on installation day so that you can know when to expect us.

Absolutely! You are free to postpone, cancel or reschedule your flooring fitting. We would rather you contact us to rearrange a fitting date to better suit you, than for our installers to turn up and be unable to do it.

We simply ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice.

While we try to keep this to a minimum, in some cases we cannot avoid canceling your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs to your appointment, we will phone you as soon as possible to inform you. While on the phone, we will arrange a new date for the soonest convenient date.

Sometimes, our fitters arrive and find that the carpet or flooring is faulty. If this is the case, we will rearrange a fitting for the next possible free date with a new carpet or flooring.

Yes, we can uplift, remove and dispose of old flooring for you. Or we can simply uplift your old flooring and leave it for you to dispose of or reuse.

Each of these services comes at an additional cost, and we will need to know you require this service when arranging your installation date. We will provide a quote for the service when arranging the fitting.

Yes, our fitters are able to move furniture from the room for you and will put it back once the flooring is fitted. We will need you to move all fragile items before we lift anything.

Should you require this service, we will need to know when you book the fitting so that we can factor extra time into your slot. This service comes at an additional cost, so we will also provide a quote at the point of booking the fitting too.

We don’t offer evening appointments but are able to offer limited Saturday appointments. Please note that we run a reduced service on Saturday and therefore, cannot guarantee a Saturday time for your fitting.

Yes, we do. We understand that redecorating, recarpeting or furnishing a home isn’t always cheap. While we try to provide the best price for our products, sometimes a little extra leeway can be the difference in getting the new flooring.
