How we use your personal data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to.  Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to perform the contract we are anticipating entering into or have entered into with you.  This may include passing your details to a third party contractor in order to carry out delivery or installation services.
  • Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.

Credit and Debit Card transactions

Any payments made to us on or off site by credit card or debit card are processed using secure terminals. Details are destroyed once payments are processed on the rare occasions where payment details are provided or taken in writing.

Visitors to our websites

When someone visits https://www.carpetsandbeds.com/ we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns.

We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of our site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and we will explain what we intend to do with it.

Search Engines

Search queries and results are logged anonymously to help us improve our website and search functionality. No user-specific data is collected by either Carpet Barn and The Bedstore or any third party.

Email Marketing

We do not carry out email marketing unless we specifically discuss this and obtain your agreement to use your data for marketing.  Should we wish to include your data for this purpose, full details will be provided of how and when it will be used and we would require you to confirm your opt in, before using any data.

When marketing is carried out, we use a third-party provider iContact to deliver our email marketing. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our email marketing activity. For more information, please see iContact’s privacy notice at https://www.icontact.com/legal/privacy
